Did m audio change their name?

Just wondering because i was in bestbuy and i saw all the m audio stuff was labelled avid now. iwas all the same but different boxes and name. Is there any benefit to these newer products, features or anything or just a merger. I couldnt find any help on google so thanks for any hel.
