Is there a easier way ...?

Is there a easier way to transfer powerpoint presentations to youtube? I know that the .ppt file needs to be converted to a .mov, .wmp ( otherwise a movie file ) I can't find a free converter program and don't want to pay $50 to buy one of the programs. Many people say to just use windows movie maker but it isn't the same and makes a really boring presentation. What do the other people on youtube that make those sort of music slide shows use? I am sooo frustrated and just want to put my presentation on youtube, it really shouldn't be this complicated :(
